    Default Painting over putty

    Hi folks

I've seen previous mentions on this forum about the need to only use oil-based paint on putty. Problem is, I've got just one one metre strip of putty I've replaced on the bottom of a window, and the rest of the window surrounds is done in an Antique white acrylic paint.

I don't want to buy a small pot of enamel paint for such a small job. One possibility I thought of was coating the putty with Penetrol (which I have already) to act as a primer, then coating with the acrylic paint.

Does anyone think this is feasible?

I believe that the modern Acrylic paints should be ok to paint over putty, or if you are really worried just get a small tin of general pourpose undercoat.

I try and do new things twice.. the first time to see if I can do it.. the second time to see if I like it
