    Default Installing ceiling downlights

The lecky was around here yeasterday, and did all the wiring for my lights in the area where I am replacing a ceiling. He left me the hole-cutter to install the lights as I put the plaster up tomorrow.

The only issue is that I have no idea how the clips work!

He has installed the bits where the globes go in, all I have to do is cut the hole in the plaster, then fit the recessed surround into the hole. The lecky said something along the lines of "The wire clips hold the whole thing in place", I thought it sounded simple enough, but I opened a box just now, and they don't come with any instructions.

It is just your standard recessed downlight, not halogen or anything, and it has three wire clips that you need to somehow slip into place.

    Anyone have any ideas?

    Cheers

After much stuffing around I think I have it sorted...

You stick the clips through, from the inside out, and it kind-of looks like an egg-beater.

It's one of those things, I knew it was a simple thing, but I am stuffed if I could figure it out!
