What is this? Help needed
Hi all
The item in the attached photo was given to a guy who bought a metal lathe. He didn't ask what it was and hasn't got a clue what it's purpose is.
Can anyone shed any light on identifying it please

Bit of a mystery. Looking forward to a answer.

OK, it has a cam that is rotated by a very large Torx driver. The follower moves down through the block. Perhaps some sort of tool is centred and held by those bolts at the bottom.
maybe a punch of some kind.
Not a clue really...____________________________________________________________

That's not torx - it's a double 3/4"(? guessing on size) square drive - I assume so you can put a breaker bar on it and clock it to where you want it to be?
