Any Atlas Lathe and Drummond Lathe Owners out there?
Good morning, just wondering if there are members out there who have the above machines.I have a long bed Atlas and various Drummonds.Accurate little machines these but have seen many that have been doing mens work on a boy diet, causing them to be unloved. This is the way I aquired my first Drummond 30plus years ago. Be delighted to hear from any co owners here. John.

Flat belt Drummond
John
I owned a round bed Drummond lathe about 55 years ago.
It was originally a pedal lathe with a large flywheel underneath. I converted it to a power drive with a 1/4 hp washing machine motor driving the large flywheel & then a flat leather belt drive to the headstock spindle.
Also built a backgear set up to it using 4 Hercus gears. It worked well.
Used it for some of my younger years, did a lot of work with it.
Would like to own it now just for the memory.
regards
Bruce

Dont own either of those lathes but would love to. Would also like to see plenty of photo's. There's a Drummond Round Bar lathe on Gumtree:

Looks like a project if I ever saw one!

Model B
hi john
I have a Drummond model B, circa 1920 , it is one of the last B models built - the B were produced from 1912 to 1921 . It has been converted to electric drive . The little machine has some nice features, like the auto power feed disengage . It is very well made . And, the modern A section ? belts fit the headstock pullies . It has V section pullies, unusual for that time maybe .
The round bed doesnt appeal to me .
