I have been having trouble posting a reply that has another persons qoute's in it.
Ive been getting the same problem for the last couple of weeks.
Is it at your end or mine?
Ive had the same problem with Pm's too.
My machine locks up and I have to close my browser and restart.

I have no idea and it happens to me but it's intermitant. (that's a big word meaning , not all the time )
I had a few problems a couple of weeks agao and wrote a large reply to something and then lost the lot. It just froze and like you, I could only reboot. I haven't had the problem for the past 2 weeks or so.If at first you don't succeed, give something else a go. Life is far too short to waste time trying.

It ain't just you, Al. I've had this problem three or four times in the last month or so.
Several episodes of that heart-warming and poignant tale The Rip In The Fabric Of The Universe have needed to be re-written from memory as a consequence. A near tragedy, I'm sure you will agree, since there existed the awful possibility that your correspondent might have forgotten what he intended to write in the meantime. :eek:Driver of the Forums

I'm not having probs with the quote function but firefox wont let me paste links anymore... if I want to do anything "fancy", I have to go into IE to paste the link. Can anyone help me with this one?
It's only a mistake if you don't learn from it.

Look chaps, I try to refrain from showing off my computer expertise too often, and today I find myself having to come to the rescue not once, but TWICE!!!
Hope this helps,

I have also seen two problems. Firstly, when replying or sending a response to a PM, hitting submit causes the process to lock. Task manager shows 100% CPU and I can only kill the task to proceed, thereby losing the text. I tried copying the text as a safeguard, but having killed the task I lose the clipboard too.
This has also happened with longer resposes when a quote is involved.
Second problem, which may be my own stupidity, is that when responding to a particular passage in a thread, I highlight that passage and then hit quote. It quotes the complete text, not the highlighted passage.
For the first problem I blame Gates as usual. The problems are displayed both at home and in the office. All MS apps and O/S. 12 yrs old and Windows is still buggered.Bodgy
