Default Beginner here hopefully for some friendly help

Hello to everyone that reads this,
Well introduce myself hey I feel like I'm standing in front of the class on my first day at a new school, heheheh
Well my name is Meghann mates call Megs or Megaton. I am a professional Veterinary Technician I work in a 24hr emergency veterinary hospital doing the graveyard shifts and I love both my job and working nights.
I have been interested in woodwork for a few years now but I normally find old run down pieces of wooden furniture and clean them up, I really enjoy it and I find it to be really relaxing and rewarding and I am in the process of getting into making some pieces of my own from scratch so I am really and truelly a beginner of course I did some woodwork and metalwork at school but that was a little while ago now, so any advice or help would be greatly appreciated.
I pretty much have a partner that when it come to handy work around the house or fixing anything is absolutly hopeless hehehe, so that side of things has always been left up to me which I have no problems with, but you put a guitar in his hands and he is pretty damn good at that.
Well I just seem to stumble across this web site and thought it looked pretty great so thought I would join up, looking forward to meet and discussing wood issues with people, and I hope you all dont fine my questions to annoying hahaha .

Welcome to the forum. I too got into woodwork through house renovation/repairs and doing up old furniture (out of necessity). I wish this forum had been around then
    Anyway, enjoy your time here.

Welcome to the forum and you will find this site is friendly. Now as advise there is plenty and some of it is even helpful.

If you have questions do ask as that is the way of learning. And when you feel so inspired do post a work in progress (WIP).
