Hardwood and borers
All,
Took delivery of some hardwood courtesy of Studley (thanks!). However some of the wood shows evidence of borer. My question is: does anyone know if the kiln drying process kills borer? If not, I guess I'll have to get rid of the pieces that show borer.
Regards,
Mike.

I don`t know about kiln drying but i have put timber in the microwave and that seems to fix the borer problem

Hardwood and borers
Has anybody used the freezer method on small bits of timber? I've been told that its another method of killing off borers. I don't know how effective this would be. I was told that customs used this method for treating any timber that people tried to bring into the country.
Dave,
hug the tree before you start the chainsaw.
