Pergola Wall Fixing, Span Length Advice Needed
Hi
I guess to takes a problem to ask for answers. Well here is my story.(see attached pages)
I am planning to buid a pergola and thought I would have a crack at the hole project myself (plans, management, costruction)
coupled roof 20 degree pitch 5600 span 7800 long 150x150 posts rafters @ 930 centres
I sent preliminary plans to surveyor 2 months ago and he responded that the plans were fine and to fill in the application form and submit construction drawings (oh and pay deposit to continue)
I have now done all of the above and he emails me that I need to ensure my plans meet AS 1684 and to nominate member sizes and nominate the correct table from this standard.
He is also questioning the fixing of the pergola to the existing structure (detail 1). Do I need to get this method engineered? do I need to fix into the studs behind the brickwork also?
Any feedback or help would be greatly appreciated.
