Plaudits for insurance broker and insurer
We have a good deal of tech gear among the three of us in the family so have contents insured at home and away. The latest claim:
My satphone bounced out of the motorbike tailpack on Sunday on back roads in the country north of Melb. Little hope of retrieval.
Docs were scanned and sent to my insurance broker yesterday morning. Claim was approved and direct transfer authorised this morning. Covered handset, unused call credits and soft case.
Pretty damn good service.
For info: the broker is Lanyon Partners in Melb. Insurer is Vero.
No connection other than as a very happy client with $850 winging its electronic way.Cheers, Ern

Satphone
This experience was topped by the cheapest handset supplier who is in WA and who in three days processed a direct transfer, got a handset to my doorstep and activated it.
My partner has a frail parent and we need to be contactable on our travels around Aus. Mobile phone suppliers claim coverage of 98% blah blah but geographically the coverage is only around 25%. A satphone is an exxy device but the domestic harmony is priceless.Cheers, Ern
