Kitchen Cupboard Hinges

Does anybody know if I can get kitchen cupboard hinges to suit 22mm thick inset doors? I have tried using the Blum Clip 100 deg inset hinges, but they cause the doors to rub on the door frame when opening.:confused:

First I'll ask the obvious. Did you turn the overlay adjustment screw? (It is usually the screw closest to the front of the carcase on the hinge itself).

If so and if the door is still rubbing try this.

The overlay distance can be increased by drilling the hinge further away from the edge of the door.

For instance, for a 22mm thick door, if the distance from the edge of the hinge cup to the edge of the door was 3mm, the reveal distance would be 3.1mm.

If we increase the hinge cup to door edge distance to 6mm, the reveal distance would be 5.7mm.

If you cant drill your doors you could try and pack the hinge plate out (say for instance 3mm mdf)

I have had the overlay screw right out and still had no clearence. I tried drilling the hinge cup closer to the door and this seemed to give me a bit more clearence when the door was opened but when the door was closed I had about a 4mm gap between the door and frame. Will try shimming the hinge plate out. Thanks for the tips.

you should be using the blum profile door hinges for doors over 18mm thick ,they will open to an angle of 95 deg sentry trading in mackay(07 49523737) have these

thanks for the tips guys, tried shimming my original hinges out, and while this did the trick ,I wasnt all that happy with the look. rang the guys at sentry trading this morning, they are getting me the hinges that you quoted Arms. should have them by the end of the week

picked up the new hinges from lincoln sentry yesterday, had to get the mounting plates that extended the hinges out from the stile to suit my inset doors. tested them today with some some scrap pieces and they will work perfectly

Hi, just posting here (as this is where I started) to thank Arms and Renomart for their help in solving my hinge problem. I have now finished the project, it can be viewed by clicking on the symbol on left hand side of "new verandah benches". (there's obviously a better way to post the link, but I cant figure it out )
