Identifying old roofing slate
Hi John here again with another heritage issue. Can anyone comment about how one identifies roofing slate? I have been asked by bewildered owners how they can be certain of the slate variety on their historic property. They have had five roofers out to quote for replacement and have been told their slate is, 1. Welsh, 2.Spanish, 3. Italian 4. Portuguese.
