    Default silky oak swap

    Hey guys,

I friend of mine chopped down a decent sized silty oak tree a few days back and gave me the logs cut in half. They're 1.2m long and about 400-500mm wide. Looking to swap for some other timber you may have lying around, or soon to be cut down....
They'll need a fair while to dry but i can also cut them up smaller if someone is interested.

Just be warned, they are going to split really badly and very quickly being left like that. You should get them milled fast and get the pith out of them. Not a good time of the year to cut it up, too hot. I milled some in winter and the still split a little. At the very least paint or seal the ends and even the cut faces to reduce moisture loss.
And keep them cool! Not in a shed.
