    Default Hello everybody

Hello everbody. My name is Leo, I'm 56 years old and working at the public transport in Antwerp, Belgium. I have a grand son of 4 and a half years old, for whom I've been making some toys (I add some pictures here, if it works allright). Since I started, I love to be in my workshop more and more. I've noticed that nobody uses plywood for their toymaking. Is there a reason? For me, I'm using it almost all the time, since I can get it for free. I have a lot af plans for toymaking, and if necessary I draw them myself. I love to hear from you all.

Hi Leo, welcome from another newbe. You have a very lucky grandson!

I very rarely use plywood and especially now I live in France. I think that they must be the dumping ground for all of the worlds worst ply and the charge a fortune for it as well!

My main hobby is turning and ply is not the best to turn. It is very dusty and blunts the gouges very quickly.
My ambition is to grow old disgracefully. So far my ywife recons that I'm doing quite well! John.

Welcome to the forum. Some of us tend to joke around a little and I guess you might have seen that on your other thread.
