    Default Joining timber

    Hi,

I want to cover a plain pine timber post with hardwood to make it look more modern. The problem is I have to use a few planks of hardwood placed together to cover it. What would I use to fill any gaps or joins between the planks to make it look like one large peice of timber when its stained?

Would a simple paintable filler do, or would you still see the joins, etc through the stain?

Any suggestions would be very helpful,
    Cheers

filler isn't good for anything but the smallest gaps.
    i suggest stained epoxy.
