Multiple coats of Sikkens Cetol Gloss?
Hi all
I'm replacing the wood dash on my 1971 fiat 124 spider and have upgraded to burl walnut (a bit more fancy than the original printed woodgrain effect laminate). I'm trying out sikkens cetol high gloss (clear) - I love the finish and I'm hoping there's enough UV inhibition for the times when the top will be down. The big question - how many coats can I apply? I'd like to get a real 3D effect and was hoping to finish with a sanding of 400/600/800/1200/2400 etc grit to get a mirror-like shine. I know the system is designed for 2 coats only but can I apply more than this?
I'm noticing that the cure is quite temperature sensitive...
cheers
sam
