Hello
Hello to all,
I have recently decided to re-start on a project to get an old wood lathe working. I found it on a kerbside cleanup about 15 years ago and it has sat in the shed ever since. I was about to donate it to the local wood turners society but had second thoughts. It is an old A.E Herbert lathe. It is missing the drive shaft and motor. I live in Brisbane.
Regards Michael

G'Day & Welcome to a top forum "Michael".
There are a heap of members in Brisbane and across S.E. Queensland.....
You'll find a heap of helpful & knowledgeable blokes & ladies on the forum and for most very willing to assist.
Make sure you show off your handiwork as everyone loves a photo, especially WIP [Work In Progress] photos with build notes.
Your old lathe is sure an antique; may I suggested you ask the questions about it in both the wood turning & the antique tools sections as you'll get a wider audience to help with possible answers....well done on the photos; worth a 1000 words.....
Enjoy the forum.
Enjoy your woodwork...
Cheers crowie
