Hello and advice welcomed.
Hi
My name is Bill and I have just Registered. (I think I may have registered before and introduced myself, but I (we) retired within the last 12 months and life has been hectic) Anyway, I have registered now.
I am getting into my woodwork which has been my ambition for retirement. I am 70 this year and live in Waroona WA. I have some Triton equipment and want more as funds permit. I have renovated some TV chairs which we now sit on and (maybe luckily) no one has ended up on their backside....yet. I have also -at the insistence of the women in my life just finished a few PALLET PROJECTS.... Coffee table, bedside table etc.
Anyway, now I want to build a single bed - I have an extra long single mattress - which is six inches longer than standard single - and fit a TRUNDLE BED underneath with the normal single mattress.
It will need to be quite simple, but if anyone has any advice or simple plans then I would be most grateful.
I don't want people to run around after me, but I am keen to do simple stuff AS WELL AS I CAN.
Many thanks and again............. Hello
Bill

G'Day, Welcome to a top forum "Bill".
You'll find a heap of helpful & knowledgeable blokes & ladies on the forum and for most very willing to assist.
Good looking table you've done, well done on the recycling.
Make sure you keep showing off your handiwork as everyone loves a photo, especially WIP photos with build notes.
Enjoy the forum.
Enjoy your woodwork.
Cheers, crowie

Thanks Crowie. I'm like photography and shots of what I am doing........... However....... not much is PLANNED. I want to get to that stage, but at the moment I just make a start and see where it takes me. I'ts an early learning stage really. Doing JOINTS terrifies me a little, but we'll get there. Thanks for the welcome you guys.

Welcome to the forum. I can not say welcome to retirement as I think I have to be retired in order to say that. Some say that they are busier now after they had retired.

Thanks folks for your collective welcome. And thanks Kiwi - I might think about giving that one a go.
Christos. Retirement is great... I was a workaholic, but I am recovering from that disease. (I think) I have just finished laying 150 or more Sq Mtrs of wooden floor.. although I didn't like the "Scotia" stuff so no skirting board yet. I have two TV chairs that I have rescued and they are half-finished - three Pallet projects not quite finished, two park benches waiting for new wood and of course the single trundle bed......... Oh, and we just collected 3 very old dining chairs that we are going to renovate. My wife likes the idea of six or so 'different chairs' to go around a dining table that I have not begun to think about building yet..... BUT I can get up in the morning and - if I feel like it - I can do work on any or all of these things.
Anyway. I am still a LATE BEGINNER so I will be begging for help and advice "PLENTY".

Welcome from me too Bill. In a way I was very lucky because I retired a few months before my 50th birthday. Great result, but not too good reason. I screwed my back up at work..
So a big welcome to retirement as well from me
P.S. My back is much better than it was, but carefull is my watchword! My ambition is to grow old disgracefully. So far my ywife recons that I'm doing quite well! John.
