Manufacturing expo
FYI National Manufacturing Week is on in Melbourne 7-10 May:
Suppliers and Companies Exhibiting at NMW
Last time I visited I was pretty impressed with some of the machine tools that they had up and running in Jeff's Shed. I thought it was worth a visit.
Anyone interested in morning/afternoon out?

Funny you should mention it, I just got off the phone from some one Amtil. They were doing a ring around and she did my registration over the phone. Not sure what days I'm going, but I normally go a couple.
You know they launched an App, to help you get around.

That's not the full list above. Amtil run the Austech side of the expo. For some reason they like to keep their stuff separate. That's where the bulk of the machine tools will be.

Personally I think I'll go the day Greg goes. I need some one big to hide behind. There's always a few people there I don't want to bump into.

Put a big fake moustache on Greg plus a leather jacket with El Gregor emblazoned on the back, no one will mess with anyone with Greg...

Phil, I will let you know when I am going so that you have your human shield.
I think I still have a fake moustache somewhere here from that last village people party I got talked into attending. The leather chaps too, probablyIt's all part of the service here at The House of Pain™

It starts at 10.00 am every morning Tues - Friday. I like early so you can storm the halls while its empty.
The other option is Thursday, that's the late night 10.00 am thru 8.00 p.m. Blokes that can only get there after work etc,
Its usually a big night out after that, back at the casino.
Car parking is up around the $36 mark. You guys might want to think about pooling. Or taking the train in.

Tuesday is OK with me. Again I'm flexible with time as its only a trip across the bridge.
For parking there's a car park behind the DFO on the corner Montague and Munro streets which is quite a bit cheaper that the rates at the exhibition centre.
I think i'll give the casino a miss, i'd rather 'donate' to a struggling machine tool supplier)

Tuesday if the first day, Every one in town is busy there now getting set up. You cant find a crane truck or forklift today. There all at Jeff's shed. Tuesday is the 7th.
I'm locking in Tuesday. I'll be there 9.45 to clap the senator at the opening. I'll probably just bump into you blokes, or give me a call when you get there.
Food and drink is dear as poison at the shed. Bring your own water. The food court at the casino is reasonable. Its just a 5 minutes walk along the river East from the shed.
I'm proposing lunch there at 1.00 pm.
Regards Phil.
