Default What do I put over the top of a stain on radiata pine?

    Hi,
I have just completed a project making a stool from radiata pine and stained it using cabots oil based iterior stain. Now I am not sure what I should put over the top of the stain? Could I just oil it in tung oil (It's what i have on hand) or should I estapol it? I'm looking for a matt finish.

    Thanks Mike

    Hi Mike,

When you say matt finish, do you mean totally flat or can you live with a satin finish? If so, I'd get some UBeaut Traditional Wax and use that. Soft mellow finish with a light satin "glow". That said, Tung oil (say 4 coats over three days), should give you something like what you want.

    Regards,

    Rob
