A White Kitchen Sink??

Does anyone know where you can still get a white enamel kitchen sink. 20 years ago such a thing was obtainable.
I loathe stainless steel sinks and the white ceramic one's dont have a draining board.
There was a white plastic sink made in the 80's but that seems to have disappeared too- probably because it didnt stay white for very long and scratched easily.

Any leads on enamel, please let me know, thanks.

Just googled the name of this thread "white kitchen sink " and ikea among others have them

Thanks but Ikea's are not enamel, they are the ceramic type without a draining board.

got ours from northern plumbing but it is plastic or could be fibreglass I don't know. has 1 large 1 3/4 sink & a draining board. just a thought why not get a steel one enameled or powder coated

has just started to discolour again but a quick run over with a scourer pad will clean it and once a year just a quick run over with a cleaner brings it back to new. but they said don't run boiling water in it so when we drain veges' we have cold water runing at the same time

We've got a white plastic? sink and I would never get another one. It's discoloured (and no amount of scrubbing with "whiten" it), it's scratched (some from all the "whitening" attempts) and finally it's got a big crack in one of the bowls because hot water was poured into a sink

For my money, they are not worth the grief ... stainless is virtually maintenance free and is a hell of a lot harder to damage.

It is made from fibreglass and stands up to anything but very hard knocks. It comes from Italy, has 2 sinks and a drainboard. I absolutely love it. It is called "Incredible sink" and the drainboard can be at either side. There is a drainhole in the centre so "my cup can never runneth over"

Now this I like. Found a pic of the white one and it looks really classy- bit like the Italian car of the kitchen sink world- very nice styling.

There are several companies that make teh ceramic ones with a draining board on one end. I've seen 'em.

Enamel would be my last choice
it would ding too easily evertime a pot was dropped into it

have you considered Corian ?

also, any well set-up stone mason can cut a draining board into marble, so an undermount porcelan sink with a stone drainer is an option

I know this is a very old thread but no harm in adding my 'two bobs worth', as I notice some people who have posted are still active here.


I am looking for an old enamel sink (just like my Grandmar had) ..... So I did a Google search and ended up here on this thread.


After caring for in excess of 40 years I can say NEVER use dishwashing liquid in an enamel sink ! ! !


This is what causes/aids the discolouration. Yes over time the surface becomes less resilient to stains but the one main thing that discolours them is dish washing liquid.

My Grandmar ONLY ever used sunlight soap - and NOT the liquid stuff the block/cake of soap.


So if you are one of the people who were having a problem, and are still about - give it a try.


You know how right our wonderful Grandmother were/are.

Did you put the cake in a soap saver and whirl it around and around a few times,father in law had one till he died dont know what happened to it probably Vinnies or someone got it.Memories
