    Default Fake Chimney

    Hi,

we will be installing a gas or wood sealed fireplace into our new house. As these come standard with a galvanised flu that will be inserted through a colour bond roof.

My question is does any company make fake chimney surrounds that can hide the metal flue from the side view, e.g. fibreglass or fake brick look?? This way from the road it will look like a traditional chimney, unless someone jumps on the roof.

    cheers

You could box it up out of lightweight construction and render!!!

Now is a good time of year for these products. However you will need to pull the fake Santa out of the top of it

    Basil,

Try Quality Fibreglass Products 97611112 they are in Bayswater.

I understand they make fake chimneys for one of the heritage style project builders.

You need to be careful with the flue if it is going to be wood fired. Probably a triple skin flue would be required.
