Brush sander heads for chuck mounting?
Does anyone know where I can get my hands on a brush sander head that can be quickly fitted to, say, a pedestal drill or a lathe or even a bench-grinder? Or - worst case scenario - one that can be retofitted to a spindle moulder, planer or perhaps an oscillating sander?
I've googled, but the first few dozen pages all sent me to industrial machines... and the heads of those just don't fit the bill at all.
The stupid thing is, when I first encountered them the only ones I could find were all for hand-tools. Now I can't find a single suitable instance...

Hi,
Try www.woodcraftsupplies.com.au they stock a selection of things for use in the chuck on the side of the Sandflee, that they are agents for, some of them might be what you are looking for.

Not exactly. Similar, but not the same.
The ones I'm thinking of were around 100mm long, have brush bristles between the flaps and you can change the paper so you have the right grit size to suit the task at hand. It's sorta like folding a sheet of paper to make a japanese fan, then slipping it into the head between wire pins.
The flaps can then be cut to make "fingers" so they'll handle many profiled timbers. (Within a certain degree of intricacy, of course!)
Edit: In looking for an image to show the sort of thing I want, I found something I think I can use! Yay for me. It's not quite right, but I think I may be able to jury rig it...

Take a look in a store which sells a lot of automotive finishing supplies: body fillers and all sorts of fine grits of W&D sandpapers. Take a look in a welding supply store.
