Merbau & Tassie Oak 2 Drawer
This one didn't work out as nice as I'd hoped, but it's passable, (just). I thought I'd still post it because this section has been quiet for a while.
Merbau and Tasmanian Oak, the lining is felt.
I was trying out a different technique. It almost worked.

I like the Merbau/light timber combo. Merbau comes up pretty nice with a finish on it, sort of a chocolate colour, but it takes heaps of coats to fill the pores.
The Tas Oak was just cut from old bed legs discarded by Captain Snooze. I've got a heap of them, about 12 x 5 inch square by 2 foot long pieces that I resaw as needed.
My next box will be the same timbers I think. I've got a design shaping up in the back of my mind.... Steve
