How cool...
I got a phone call yesterday, missed it, no message, left it awhile, then rang the number back.
Well I had to leave a message and I thought, DanG answer machine tag
So then a while later, I get a call from Richard (can't remember where the chap said he was from) but he said he'd seen my website, and he'd done a bit of looking around - liked it.
Cool ok, thanks...
Then he says he likes my "Don't burn it or bury it - treecycle it" phrase on my site, (on my cards and magnets too)
Oh great, thanks...
He goes on to ask if he can use my word 'treecycle'?
I say to him, of course, I think it's just a word, can't stop someone trying to use a word huh? Anyway he said, he wanted to ask, with copyright and legal crud nowadays. I said no worries.
Got off the phone and thought, he could have easily just used it and I'd probably have never known, but it was great to think there are some people out there who still have some good morals and ethics.
Good onya Richard - if you get to read this....thanksI love my Lucas!! ...just ask me!

Sometimes life is that simple and that's all it takes, just one phone call!

Scary to think that some crud will possible copyright the word and force you to not use it.

G'day Sigidi,
In response it was I that asked for the use of the word treecycle, I would like to thank you for your response to my question. At the moment I am looking at my Yellow pages ad and really like the word or phrase "treecycle" and would really like to use it in my advert. Just to set your mind at ease I have no intention what so ever to copyright the word instead would just like to use the word, if at any time you should think that you do not what me or anyone else to continue using "treecycle" just say so and I will remove it.
Anyway thanks again.

Sorry, Richard, I never picked up on your voice - we've only spoken the once before on the phone haven't we? By all means mate, use away, I really don't believe someone can/should be able to call a word their own, not really sure it was 'mine' to begin with

Good to hear it is on the up and up but you do need to be careful. A few years back when the Chicago Bulls won the title for the third year in a row they tried to copyright the word "Threepeat" don't know what happened though, wether it go through or hit on the head.
