    Thumbs down

The Worst song ever is God Save the King/Queen.
Closely followed by anything vaguely religious or Country and Western.

    "Advance Australia Fair"

What a God awful, maudlin dirge. "Rejoice, girt, Australians-all, toil" what a tedious, manufactured load of stilted early 19th century kraap. Cross between Enid Blyton, Dorothy Dix, Agatha Christie, Mrs Whitehouse, Margaret Thatcher, Barbara Cartland and Tami Fraser. Victoria I at prep school with a tummy ache!

The only thing I could ever agree with Gough about was:

"It should have been Waltzing Matilda"

Booger off Bodgy. Every time I hear that wondrous tune I can't but help stand to attention, salute Wee Johnny and look for an opportunity to rip my veins open in support of my country **dammit, where's the 'salute' smilie**

Actually, our national anthem is a bloody sight better than a lot of them, including that embarrassment the yanks use, but yeah, it could be better
