Silky oak kitchen cabinet recovery into bookcase
Picked this started project yesterday and in a rush to convert it into a bookcase for myself. It came from an estate at Amity Point Queensland I was told.
I decided to strip and start with shellac before getting into the structural work to make sure I was appreciating the end goal

Looking for comments on wetting the top and placing in sun to get boards to curl back to flatter before trying to secure down again.
I have been given bent table tops and just wet them before putting on grass in the sun for them to curl back. Of course I have on occasion been distracted and found them curled too far back and had to do it the other way

Inside has been painted as well as the shelves. Just for a bit of history I have left the lining on one small shelf.
The broken pane of glass in the leadlight has been removed and replaced using glass from an old picture frame.
(Sorry tried uploading photo's but not successful)
