    Unhappy IE problems

    Hi,

    I am new to this forum, plenty of good info! However I seem to have a problem, I get an IE error message quite regularly, then offers to send an error report. I am running IE6.1.
    Makes it rather hard to read some of the threads when you get unceremoniously kicked off.
    Any suggestions as to what the problem could be ?

    Firefox users had a similar issue a week or so ago. Try deleting cookies and history, close IE, then try again.

    I'd suggest moving to IE7 - it's out of beta now, and is available from MS's site.

    I use ie6 with no problems, so it sounds as though you may some settings wrong, I have no idea as to what settings though.

    Well, will try those suggestions, thanks guys. Must say that I do a fait bit of internet browsing etc, and have never experienced this problem before.

    Have deleted all cookies etc, so see how I go.

    Will get a copy of IE7, although I always shudder to install any new MS software!

    Thanks again

    Well deleting all the cookies etc made no difference.

    Doesn't happen anywhere else I go, but get kicked off after a few minutes here every time.

    Maybe I should take the hint!

    This question was done at length some time ago so do a search.
    I think it has some thing to do with your settings in the CP at the top left of your page.

    Ok ubeaut, I'll try that. Not sure that it is IE (have just been told elsewhere in the forum that I shouldn't blame my tools, although with IE that is very hard!).
    I thought that perhaps it was the popup stopper I'm using, so used the Google one, with the same disappointing result.
    I'll also do a search to see what else has been tried.
    Thanks for all the input.
    I am really enjoying the forum, living in the country you tend to get a bit isolated. I believe there is a Triton Users Group here in Bendigo, I might look them up.
    I live in Lockwood South, just out of Bendigo, on 25 acres and am retired.
    We built our own 26 square house (using the Triton amongst other thing to house all the wall studs with a 35mm router bit, as well as the complete kitchen and kitchen doors).

    IE = Internet Explorer WRONG

    IE = I Explode

    Just thought this might clear up some confusion.

    Ok, got the same error again. Logged back in (ticked the Remember me), guess what? You guessed it, after a few minutes BINGO, off I go again. Can't try the not logging off bit, I'm not on long enough!!!

    Looked in the CP options, but can't really see anything that looks relevant to me.

    Must try that IE7, have to look for it, can't download it. The flipside of the idyllic country existence with plenty of land (neighbours can't hear you) and big sheds (wife can't find me) is that I can only get dial-up, Telstra doesn't want to know about a poor deprived slob like me!

    I see you cleared the cookies, did you clear the history too?
