    Default Twin Screw bench vice

Attention clever buggers. Anyone had a go at making a twinscrew vice from scratch?
    Cheers

No, but I have made a single screw.

Hint: Acro props are really big Acme screws...

    Hi Shedhand,
If you're talking about one of those with a single handle to wind 2 parallel threads, try using easy-to-find hardware like pushbike or even motorbike chains and sprockets. Tensioner needs only be an oiled block of hardwood to drape the chain over. Look closely at the commercially available ones and adapt! If you use what Schtoo suggested it should be pretty strong, but may need some machining to get a sprocket onto. Mounting the nuts should be pretty straight forward, socket them into the back of the fixed jaw.
    Keep us posted!

    Cheers,
    Andy Mac
