Thumbs up Wooden type laminate flooring in bathroom?

    Hi all -
doing up my bathroom at the moment - have ripped up the old tiles and would like to put down some or the click together type laminate flooring. Obviously i am tiling all around the bath and shower combo - but like the look of the timber on the floor. Anyone know if there is a product which is waterproof? Currently there are cyprus pine floorborads there - if i polished them could i just seal them with something instead? Ideas? Just need to make sure it is waterproof.
By the way i have just joined up but have been reading this site for some time - it is excellent!!!

    Welcome leightheman.

I don't think there are any "waterproof" timber or laminate floors around. And I doubt there is a way to waterproof such a floor. The boards would have to sealed on all sides and ends, including the tongues and grooves.

Sorry, but I don't like your chances.
    Cheers.

    Vernon.

Laminate flooring in a wet/moist environment is a prescription for trouble. The timber is laminated to an MDF product which hates water. Most manufacturers over here will not warrant their products if installed in a bath.

M8 your best bet as using Amitico vinyl planks with their 2 part epoxy adhesive.

Amtico is one brand, there are others but I believe their adhesive is the way to go.

I know Harvey Norman are Amtico dealers, but shop around and compare their price to others as they can have a reputation of being a bit pricy in this industry
