    Default VJ Walls and Ceilings

Planning on painting the inside of our house during the course of this year. Just wondering is it fine to just paint over the top or does it get to a point where you should take the coatings of paint off and get back to wood to start again. House is about 80 years old so i'm guessing previous owners have thrown some ugly green or pink paint under the stuff we have now at some point.

if the paint isn't peeling as it was in our 70 year old place I would just paint over the top. Trying to strip vj's is a long, messy job which can drag on for a long time, as well as exposing layers of lead paint. Much quicker to clean the walls with sugar soap and paint.

Yeah that was the option i was hoping to go with. Paint is in good condition apart from the fact it is ugly. Going to use a wood filla to plug the holes etc... Person who used to live here must have had a 1000 photo's on the wall.

sounds familiar, I think they used to play darts in our place there was so many holes. Be prepared to fill and then fill again as you spot the little thumbtack holes, specially after undercoating!
