Is there something wrong with my Triton RTA300 table?

I've been using it cross-cut style with the mitre guide to cut a rebate in table legs but wasn't happy with the results. Made the cut in about ten passes and the cut was uneven; I didn't get a photo of it before I sanded it back but this is a photo looking along the table with a straight-edge clamped onto the MDF runner ... you can see a gap of several millimetres!

The table also isn't flat longitudally although that's never caused me noticeable problems before.

The table is second-hand.

The router table steel surface is 1.4 ± 0.2 mm below the top surface of the MDF runner and I don't know why; it looks installed correctly and properly seated in the aluminium track.

Yep. It's crap. Definitely not what I expected from the original Triton.

Have you got a picture from further back please? Trying to envisage the MDF runner?

I seem to have fixed it ... disassembled the guides on the MDF slider, removed the aluminium rail from the table top ... was contemplating drilling new holes in the rail or routing a rebate in the underside of the slider ... but put it back together and there is no longer a significant gap so I don't know if I relieved some stress in the aluminium rail or the slider wasn't properly sitting on the rail (though I triple-checked that). Still a gap and I'd prefer a properly flat surface but it's tolerable now.

Okay more pics.

So this is looking across the router table with a straight edge clamped to the MDF slider after I disassembled the slider guides and aluminium rail:

Much better than previously, but for no apparent reason.

This is the aluminium rail that I unscrewed to see if it was adjustable (nope) but didn't tighten the screws as much when reattaching to the table:

And the plastic guides on the underside of the MDF slider that I had checked several times to make sure they were properly and fully seated on the aluminium rail:

Have now finished routing the rebates in my table legs; much better (though not perfect, but easily cleaned up with a few seconds with the ROS).
