My profile
G'day mate.I am 71 years old,but young at heart.I am an electrician, but have just reno'd one of our resort units into a honeymoon suite ,with built in spa,new kitchen, robes ,plasma tv on tilt bracket, floor to ceiling tiles in bathroom, new vanity, tiled kitchen floor & sanded & polished remaining floor. We completely gutted the unit & did our own Gyprocking, painting etc.I am a car enthusiast ,mainly minis.I have an Austin Cooper S & a few others.I have been renovating our home ,mainly by my self but with help from my wife ,who incidently is as good a painter as any I have struck in the building game(this is not to gain any brownie points from her)I have built my own kitchen & big walkin pantry, italian marble floor tiles which I also used for the splash backs as well as the bench tops.On the down side I have just been diagnosed with Polymyositis, which is a rare blood disease, where the immune system attacks the muscles which also affects the throat muscles & makes it hard to swallow solid food.I would sure like to be able to eat a nice steak.I mention this problem so that any one experiencing swallowing difficulty ,not related to a sore throat, sees a specialist asap before the muscle wasteing starts.I am restricted in what I am allowed to for a while so thought I would join the forum & get away from the crosswords . Cheers,Ron.

Welcome Ron! I'm new myself, and I've found this a great place for support and encouragement.
Cheers

Welcome to the forum. You seem to have done an awesome amount of reno work recently, just think how much more you can do if you ever retire. I hope you can browse and enjoy the forum, there is lots to learn and it sounds like you have lots to contribute. I am sorry to hear of your medical issues and wish you the best possible outcome. Cheers, and again welcome.
