How to apply mineral oil
Sorry, I could not find the appropriate forum for this question.
I have been experimenting with mineral oil to finish my toys made from beech. Right now I use a brush or cloth to apply it, both give the same result. I usually give it three coats, but I have no idea if this is enough.
This made me wonder, how many coats should it get, and isn't it much easier to let the items soak for a day, and then rub them dry with a cloth? The items are saturated (I guess), are protected from stains (I think) and it takes less labour (probably).
As you can see, I don't know for sure. I soaking an option or is applying several coats better?
Thanks
Bob
