Hi All
Hi Ladies and Gentlemen,
Introducing myself, have been lurking on this forum occasionally for a few years and thought I'd legalise things and sign up.
I'm a bloke 63 years young and just 2 weeks ago my position with a Government business was made redundant along with the other 5 guys throughout the country who used to perform the same function. What we used to do was fairly highly specialised in that we calibrated electronic test equipment associated with detecting hearing loss and fitting of hearing aids etc. My region was Queensland, and the highly intelligent so called executives of this go ahead show thought that they could get a few unskilled office girls to do what we used to do. Good luck with that one!!
Anyway I'm into woodwork mainly guitar building and furniture restoration ( by necessity due to the price and quality of the new stuff ) and hope one day to build a half decent guitar. Lordy knows I only have 7 at the moment and could use another one!
My forced holiday has given me the time to work on developing a new guitar construction method which has been rolling around in the head for years. Early stages so far but I am encouraged by how well it seems to be going.
Looking forward to lurking here more often and perhaps contributing when I find out how this place works. I'll be most surprised if this post makes it into the intended spot.. Worked for years with computers as tools but never understood them and trying hard to keep it that way.
Regards DC

Welcome DC! It sounds to me like you're far better off without the job.
.
I know you believe you understand what you think I wrote, but I'm not sure you realize that what you just read is not what I meant.
Regards, Woodwould.

Welcome DC. I am on the receiving end of that sort of thing too. It can be a painful and demeaning process. Found woodwork was a good tonic.
So go for it.
Regards
PJ

Hi and welcome.
Know that feeling. Was asked to make a short set of instructions so a clerk could do my job. How do you describe 10 yrs of experience in 2 pages?
