How do roofers replace zincalume roof
Hey
I have been doing some roofing and have decided that my patch up job would do for a year or so but the old section of our farmhouse will need replacing.
Heres the Q's;
1. How do roofers replace an entire roof with new Zincalume?
Is it a case of pulling the old sheets and using them as templates for the new sheets?
2. Do they use sheets in stock lengths or do they use a machine that rolls the profile from flat sheet in a big roll?
3. The old roof seems to be made with sheets that are about six foot in length and overlap in the middle. Is this an old way of doing it or still done today?
4. The 3m sheets I used seemed much thicker than what colorbond normally is. Is this correct or am I off with the fairies?
5. I would like to do it myself. There are two gable ends and a hip. Any suggestions or tips/tricks?
cheers
