Mum's passed away
Peacefully in her sleep, aged 92.
There was time for family to say goodbye.
She was soothed by the playing of her favorite music, Handel's Messiah, as she went into that deeper sleep.
The nursing home, residents and staff, were fully and lovingly there for her. It was as they say a good death.
The sun shone briefly (this is Melb. after all) as we carried her to the grave beside Dad who she loved, supported and hosed down from time to time for 50+ years.
She was a gentle, strong and intelligent woman.Cheers, Ern

Ern, I'm going to go a little different there and say that's a really nice and touching post. It was coming, and it sounds as though it was a good as it could be (for all). Won't stop people missing the old girl of course, but today will have some fond memories for them, I believe, and that's a good thing.

Mourn your loss but treasure your memories.
My mother died at 94 just on 6 years ago and as my son often remarks, "they just don't make them like that any more."Tom

Hi Ern
Thanks for sharing your news. You were very fortunate that you had her right to the end. We lost my Mum 9 years before she went due to dementia.Tour Mum was fortunate too, to be able to say goodbye. Mate she will always be with you in your your mind. You will also see her in your kids (I know I do with mine)
All the best to you and your family at this timeJust do it!
Kind regards Rod

Mum
Hello Ern,
Sincere sympathy. Take the fond memories. It is amazing how their wisdom and idiosyncrasies
prompt you every now and again. Take care, John M.
