Floor polish
I've put down a stringy bark floor and, oiled it with a 50/50 mix of linseed oil and gum turpentine then buffed it up with a floor polisher. It looks fantastic but, after a few months of use I think it needs freshening up. I could apply a bit more oil and rebuff but that'd mean pretty much emptying the house first. Not keen on that!
Can anyone recommend a floor polish suitable for an oiled floor? The only ones in the local hardware all seem to be for hardened finishes.
Cheers
Don

Gemini floor polish. Available from Peerless at Seven Hills.
Normally, when I do floors I use at least 2 coats of oil and often 3 if the timber is still hungry and then polish.

floor polish oils
The Gemini product is acrylic water based and may not go too well with the Linseed oil.
Don, get some Livos Kunos natural oil sealer, you can get them is small sample pot size, do a test in a cupboard and make sure there is no rejection issues.
The Kunos is a floor and furniture oil and not only is it linseed oil based however has also natural resins and waxes. Your nearest outlet is in Willoughby or in Newtown.
With Stringybark, apply a light film of oil, if it all penetrates, good, apply another coat the next day. leave on for approx 20 minutes then wipe off. if you buff the oil in, it will give you a subtle sheen to the floor. If all is good and it sounds like you have done most of your house, get a hold of a white pad and buffing machine and clean the surface first, then use the oil. Because it is not a varnish system, you can do a room at a time or just go around the larger pieces of furniture. It should then last you a number of years before you need to touch up heavy wear areas...and with no sanding either.Livos Australia
