Just back from PNG after doing some community work.
One of the major jobs is gradually re-roofing the local school (rusted 40 yr old galvabond)

Well we went as a couple of fairly competent handymen but I was not happy with the overall result.

The building is fairly square (not checked exactly) but foundations have sunk and rafters have bowed and there is no fascia. We replaced the worst of the rotten beams and straighten the rest. Due to local conditions we had to use 6' and 8' sheets (all material must be rubber tubed in across a major river)

We tried hard to level up the first sheet but then had to lay extras to see how they went before screwing down but still ended up with skewing sheets which ended up being tried to correct as we went. Not a great result but it's watertight. The whole roof cannot be removed at once as it rains every night and the building must remain water tight (sort of).

What would be the correct native fool proof way of correctly laying the sheets in such circumstances (also no power)
