Hi,

I'm about to lay about 30m2 of 140mm wide yellow stringy bark. The supplier recommended spacing them 9mm apart. This seems huge when I lay them down and everything else I have seen seems to suggest 3-5mm is the go.

Does anyone know anything about this?

Someone I spoke to said the timber will swell in winter and shrink in winter, so I guess it depends on the season when the boards go down.
I am weary of deciding go against the recommendations of the supplier but also don't want to regret it once the timber shrinks and I have crazy big gaps all along the deck.

Please help.
