Default Vale "Sally", the original bench dog

After fifteen long years Sally the loving Labrador has passed peacefully. She had arthritis, gait problems, bowels issues and a host of other things but still struggled up to say 'hello' when I came in the room; it got to the point where it hurt to put her through that so today we went to the vet.

I know a lot of you became familiar with her through my workbench thread, as soon as the camera was out she found a way to be in front of it, I never really understood why.

My plan is to have her cremated and I will make a little box for her out of the same Jarrah used for the bench.

Sad day, farewell old mate *sigh*

    Hi,
Remember the good times you both had. It is a hard decision in the end and how long to let things go go on when you know you are going to make the trip but is a lot less painful for all concerned than just letting it go on until they drop.
    All my sympathy

So sad. Such a loyal dog. Maybe you could make a little draw that slides into the bench somehow. Then she would still be the bench dog.

Sorry to hear of this Greg, she was a great dog, always ready to greet you with a wag and loved a pat whenever I visited.

She'll be missed, my Sally says woof.
    Cheers

    Default Thank you

Thank you all for your comments, I appreciate them.

I spoke to my daughter and we have decided that we are going to make another workbench, this one will be a miniature and will hold Sally's ashes. I'll use some perspex to contain the interior - it seems a fitting tribute to her.

Sorry to hear that Sally has crossed the rainbow bridge Greg, may she rest in peace. 15 years is a great innings and I am sure you will miss her.
