walnut oil and beeswax finish
Hi everyone,
I was wondering if I could get some advice please.
I'm looking at using a walnut oil and then beeswax oil (contains beeswax, carnuaba wax and a bit of other stuff) finish for some stools. I was just wondering how long I need to leave the walnut oil to cure before I put the beeswax coat on. How long approximately do you think until both are set enough the stools can be used?
I was also wondering if there is an inexpensive way to tint some of the walnut oil so I can get darker or different colour shades.
Thanks very much in advance for any help you can give!
David

Why on earth would you want to use walnut oil?
If you want to wax just wax and leave it at that. The onlu reason to use walnut oil is for food utensils, chopping boards, etc.
Using it under wax will only serve to keep the wax soft.KEEP A LID ON THE GARBAGE... Report spam, scams, and inappropriate posts, PMs and Blogs.

Hi Ubeaut,
I made the stools out of pine, so I wanted to give them a bit of colour (without too much extra work) and a nice natural finish. Is there something else you could recommend for that purpose?
Thanks a lot,
David

Good old everyday golden shellac'll give it a honey colour and is a great base for for a wax polish.
