Just watched it. I was going to post it as well. That was pretty yuk and a hard way to learn about safety.
On the other channel was "House", so much more realistic

They just put two brass screws to stitch his bone together now they are trying to join his tendon up.
They wrecked the saw getting it off his finger. They cut the base plate with some sort of a Dremel.
Made me cry seeing what they did to the saw. He reckons he was cutting a piece of timber and it slipped and he went to grab it and stuck his hand in the saw.

So I take it he was a weekend warrior?
I know not with what weapons World War III will be fought, but World War IV will be fought with sticks and stones.

Mate was in hospital a few years ago, having surgery on his sinuses - the bloke in the next bed with the morphine drip had dropped an angle grinder with a 'saw blade' (poss. something like Arbortech make?) down his leg while it was locked on - not happy, even pumped full of juice. Luckily everything was wrapped up by then.

Note to self - don't read this site before going to work. (or probably should be read before going to work)
Cheers

What gets me is how he didnt cut his bloody fingers clean off... I mean if the saw was ON when he put his hand in there surely... I mean... bloody lucky in my book!!
Somehow I get the feelin its more a matter that he was changing the blade while the saw was still turned on at the wall and somehow accidentally hit the switch (you know flip on whirr flip off stop) without it being able to wind itself up to full steam... just enough to trap and hack at the fingers
THATS what I think... cause we all know that when we KNOW weve done something totally dumb an stupid and theres a camera crew pokin their nose in as were bein checked over we will make something decidedly "interesting" up such as "Im an art student an I was making something arty"... Just so he doesnt look like a total flamin numbnuts without a clue
Betcha he learns a bit of respek NOW!
To extrapolate that comment about makin stuff up a bit... when I worked in ER in Derby we had these tourist fishin fellas come in one bloke had this whoppin great hook jammed right where the sun dont shine... FAIR STUCK it was... so after getting out the camera for posterity he starts tellin the doc what happened "well mate I had this flamin great barracuda on the line mate he was friggin HUGE and then a whoppin great barra chomped him makin the line snap back as I was turnin to get some help from Bob over there and wham... right up the clacker"... truth was he sat on the thing with a thump while 1/2 full before they left for the fishin but hey! couldnt just tell the truth now could he!... we all do it so I reckon that young fella did too... bloody dopey buggarBelieve me there IS life beyond marriage!!! Relax breathe and smile learn to laugh again from the heart so it reaches the eyes!!
