Finally finished our kitchen
Hi all,
Thought I would share some pictures of our recently completed kitchen renovation. Very happy with the finished product. While a little inconvenient for the family without a functional kitchen for a week, all are very happy now it is complete and usable.
The first photo is the original kitchen, photo quality is pretty ordinary, old camera sorry. Other photos show the finished kitchen.
I recycled Jarrah for all of the wooden parts. Cupboards are all face frame configuration and have draws through out. The draw tops are trimmed with Jarrah edging on the tope to protect the melamine which adds a nice detail when opened. I am pretty quick at building melamine boxes now .
Face frames and doors are joined using the domino floating mortices. I think the domi paid for herself with this part alone in time saved. I also made the pantry door using domi's for the joinery. These are pretty strong as the door is bloody heavy coz i tend to over design structually.
Cupboard and pantry doors have miniorb in the centres, easy to clean and have no noise when opening and closing. I was a little nervous they would rattle a bit but no probs.
All hinges and draw runners are Blum with three hinges on each door and the soft closing cushion attached too. The three corner cabinets have lazy susan's in them which are great. The total space available is smaller then without the lazy susan's but the usable space is so much better.
Cheers,
Buz.
