I didn't actually come to the forum to do this but I noticed this section of the forum and thought I'd mention what I do, and see what feedback I get.

My main line of work is tight access excavation. Excavator 1.8 ton (attachment - auger, grab, rake, ripper hook), mini bobcat, hole drilling, concrete busting, trenches, etc, whatever these machines can do. Unfortunately I don't have a truck so need to hire bins or a separate haulage company for dirt removal.

I also have a small metal workshop with manual machines: large lathe & milling machine, hydraulic press, floor standing drill, welders, bandsaw, etc.

Then there's my CNC plasma cutting table which can fit a standard 1220 x 2440 sheet (although it's full area is actually about 1500 x 2440). I've actually just put a couple of videos of it in operation on Youtube if you'd like to see it in operation:

That's a sign I designed for a customer after he gave me some idea what he wanted. With artistic cutting the hardest part is deciding what you want. I can manually or auto trace from drawings that have reasonable contrast. Any images have to be converted to "cut lines", with non of the important bits falling out after the cut is done (e.g. the centre of the letter "O"). Scrollsaw patterns and stencil patterns are actually very similar to plasma cut art.

This next video shows the table cutting out mechanical parts - straight lengths of steel, and accurately marking hole centres with little crater marks:

The other 3 videos on my channel are a trio of me doing line boring on part of my excavator but I guess that's not very interesting for anyone LOL.

Cheers,

Keith.
