Oxalic Acid
I recall seeing a recent post which mentions Oxalic Acid for bleaching timber. Would this be appropriate for the following:
I have just stripped a thick coat of gloss paint from a 50's vintage dollhouse/cupboard and am down to the cream/lemon coloured lacquer that was common in kitchen dressers of that era.
There is quite a lot of turned work on the cupboard and I need some advice on the easiest way to get ALL paint and lacquer residue off. Up till now I have used Methylated spirits and steel wool but it is tough going.
Are there any easier ways to strip back to the raw timber and hasten the process.
Thanks, Barbara

Try a product called "Peel Away" from Haymes.
Do or do not.....
Just try on a piece of scrap timber first.
