One person said it was a "table saw," the other said "bandsaw." I would be pretty impressed if someone managed to do that with a bandsaw, but you never know. We breed them a bit "special" over here...

That's nothing, when I was a boy we get 6 x 4s through our whole body and we loved it and came back for more. We had to lick the blood up with tongue and pull it out with our mouth and you tell young people this today and they just don't believe you.

It was not the wood in his hand that made me wince but the end of the article talking about the axe head incident that made me cringe

Yeah, those last two paragraphs turned my stomach more than the original story did... Stomach ripped open by a boat anchor? Groin injury from an axe at a wood chop? What the hell are the kiwis doing over there
...but together with the coffee civility flowed back into him

    Default Squeaky voice

I work on a surgical ward and some of the 'injuries' I've seen make me wince, quite a bit. The worst one I've seen was a guy using an angle grinder which took a catch, swung around and sliced his sack and one of his goolies. After his operation he spent most of his day sitting in a chair with a bag of ice on his man bits. We had to get orthotics to make him a few pairs of specialised underwear.

Then, last week, we had a young boy who was screwing a bolt through a skateboard wheel when the screwdriver slipped and pierced his hand. He didn't pull the screwdriver out which made for an amusing X-ray with the wheel between his pierced hand and screwdriver.

Seen heaps of nails through various body parts from nail guns.

But the funniest one we've got is a screwdriver stuck inside a bloke's penis. Said he 'tripped and fell onto the screwdriver. True story people.

I have heard of a guy that cut off the end of his penis with an angle grinder blade that broke and headed towards his groin...ouch!

Dont ask me how but my late Father cut his thumb off with a radial pull saw, they sowed his thumb back on and then the idiot did it again...same thumb!!! needless to say his mates called him "stumpy"

He should have known better being a pattern maker all his life!
