could something be wrong?..
Firstly I didnty know where to post this so my apologies and to get attention quick I posted it here
First noticed thursday morning that when attempting to access this site from the google links I get redirected to elsewhere by "filestore72" a search has shown that vBulletin sites and of course ones pc could be infected.
I can access PM and exploreoz (a non vBulletin site) using the google links okay without drama. But not this
ebay and a couple several other vBulletin forums are okay.
Following a link in a reply that WWF sends out is okay...its only the links that pop up in google
It was only happening (yesterday) with woodwork forum link...not the metalworking link....but today its happening with all the google links for this site.
Anyone else having problems...it has me beat!?...i dont know if its me or WWF server?
Kaspersky and Malwarebytes and a couple of others dont show anything......and no a restore to 15th Jan didnt help

Sounds like you have the 'Filestore72" browser hijacker.

eskimo, I have reported this to Admin.
I have also tried to duplicate what you reported and yes, if I click on the Google link to Woodwork Forums I got the same redirect. If I clik on any of the links under that link, I go straight to that sub-forum, ie Metalwork Forum.
Interesting thing is that when I tried this a second time clicking on the Google link to Woodwork Forums took me straight to WWF.
Another moderator had the same experience.
Master Splinter, thanks for that link, but the instructions given for Firefox seem to be out of date as pressing Alt H and then selecting Troubleshooting Information does not give me a Rest Firefox option.

Yup, happened the first time I tried it & then it didn't happen again.
Mind you, when it happened, it took me to the filestore72 site but the site reported an error.Cliff.
If you find a post of mine that is missing a pic that you'd like to see, let me know & I'll see if I can find a copy.

Its likely nothing to do with your computer. I spent 4 hours looking on mine to find this thing (not a trace anywhere), as I do a lot of browsing through multiple forums and had it happen often. Used MalwareBytes and a bunch of others, even tried some old system restore points....
Finally jumped on the missus' computer, and did the same testing I'd been doing - google search, and start opening any results from forums in a new tab. Straight away, Avast! antivirus started blocking redirects.
This filestore72 redirect has been a problem for any vBulletin based forums for some time, but in a different form. It seems they've now come up with a new version thats managed to upload itself to most of the vBulletin boards on the net sometime in the last couple of weeks, and redirects at (I assume) a server level. Installation of Avast! antivirus (free) seems to block the redirects on mine without issue (with a friendly little message to tell me its done so), so I'd suggest checking that your antivirus software is up to date, and turned on.
I must say though, writing this reply has reminded me I need to investigate an unrelated issue with this site and my new computer. Typing into the reply box results in about 25% of the keystrokes not being recorded, and I can't scroll down from what I'm writing to see the previous posts, as the page keeps jumping back up to where I'm typing. Seems like its auto-refreshing constantly. I'm actually typing in Notepad, then copy pasting. Even then, I have to right click to paste, as Ctrl-V doesn't work... Pretty sure its related to IE11.

it took me ages to figure that one out...the time I have wasted trying to get rid of invisible bit of malware !!!!
loading this and that and doing scans, so called manual removal tyhat showed up nothing.
cost me $40.00 bucks for Spyhunter that freezes during its scan....now I am in for another fight to get my money back for a useless bit of so called anti-malware software.....
Any way I am sort of glad it wasnt my computer

Been getting this issue from my android phone using chrome. Looks like it is one of the new web page redirects that have popped up but no one knows how to fix it. Read about this problem in the news about a week ago.

Admin is still working on it.
This is not confined to just this forum, quite a few forums and blogs are affected by it too.
Have you thought about putting an icon on your desktop/toolbar for the WWF?
I have one on my toolbar and never have a problem.
