Draw 68 "artisans retreat"
Hi everyone
I was the lucky winner of the draw, a special prize draw number 68. I have just taken my prize which I blended in with a number of other matters on a journey to Newcastle and returned via the coastal road and Grafton. Thanks to Christine and Peter for the hospitality provided to me and my wife. If you want to get away from it all this is for you. This is a place where you can get away from the hustle and bustle of every day living which seem to affect all of us. Peter was at the Canberra wood show so a hands on with the wood lathes was not possible but i did drool all over the equipment in his well equipped and very large "Shed".
The accommodation was 5 star as was the food. I can personally recommend this to all woodies and anybody with interests in arts and various crafts. There is something for everyone including the kids. The building which was designed by them both is really something worth having a close look at, and do not forget to look at Peter's laminated beams. A special Thanks to Christine and Peter for providing this great prize. Its back to house building for me and son after having a great week away. Thanks to all who helped to provide this great draw and subsequent prize.
Kind regards Mike

Sorry I missed you
Sorry I missed you Mike - would have been good to send a few woodchips flying together! (and a bit warmer than Canberra!)
I am glad you and your wife were able to relax for a while and forget about the day to day. Hope you can now get stuck into the house building with renewed energy.
I had a good time on the Trend stand at the Canberra Show - turned another fine "see through" bowl (this one a bit thicker at 0.9mm), sold out of micromesh pads when people saw how easy it is to finish acrylics with them.
Caught up with our gracious Forums host, Neil and brought back more of his great products to sell up here. Finally met and swapped a few yarns!
Christine & I look forward to visits from forum members - even if just to say Hi when travelling up & down the North Coast (we are only 10mins off the Pacific Highway). Make sure you let us know you are a Forumite!
Cheers
