Stained Oak veneer.
Howdy fellow Forumites!
I have an old(not Antique) table that I am trying to refinish. It has a very nice oak veneer on the top and the drawleaves. It unfortunately also has a grey stain in the veneer. I hate the thought of loosing that veneer under a coat or 2 of paint. Is there anyway to get the stain out prior to refinishing. Could it be bleached or would this loosen the veneer? Any advice would be very welcome. Also what would be the most durable finish for a tabletop(Dinner table). This could be a great table especially since I got it off hard rubbish. Thanks in advance Big JimAmerican by birth Texan by the grace of God!
