    Default Dodo Home Phone??

SWMBO and I are looking at ways of cutting our line rental because we have a VOIP system for the phones. We found out that Dodo are offering $0 line rental at the moment with no contract but a minimum $5 monthly spend.

What we are worried about is the old adage "if it sounds too good to be true then it usually is", but I can't find anything really negative (except for the fact it is dodo). I'll but the link here - can anyone else find bad points?

Don't worry about it, I just spoke to a friend who signed up with them and the one thing that they don't mention on the web page is that fact that there is a $32.90 line rental. Seems like it was too good to be true

If you read the two sub clauses then you will see that there is a line rental if you have local calls. (pre selected)

There is a minimum fee if you do not have the local calls.
ie Min $5 for STD calls only

    Rowan,

After my recent Dodo experience (which is different to David's) I'd suggest anyone thinking of switching to Dodo tries to phone their customer service dept or helpline before doing so.

    Cheers,

    P

    I agree.
I only have internet through them, not my phone.

    Cheers,

Out of curiousity I did. I called the number and went through the automated voice menu selecting 'new customer enquiries'. Finally within 2 minutes (I was suprised) someone answered "Dodo Switch Board, how may I help". Anyway they asked what I was calling about and could I give them a number and they will call me back. So I gave them my mobile no and hung up.

5 minutes later I got a call back, except it was from a call centre in the Phillipines! Apart from the fact I could barely understand the lady, that move sealed dodo's fate of never getting my business!!
Have a nice day - Cheers
